摘要
Sol-gel process is shown as a promising synthetic route to fabricate three-dimensional photonic crystals doped with luminescent lanthanides. Using silica and Th-doped titania. sol the colloidal crystals with photonic stop band ranging from 480 to 550 nm have been developed, thus fitting the D-5(4) --> F-7(6), D-5(4) --> F-7(5) transition of Tb3+ ions. Pronounced inhibition of optical transitions of Th3+ ions was observed.
