摘要
P. Visvesvaran extended the study on the morphology and plate dimensions in Fe-Ni and Fe-Ni-Mn alloys to Fe-Ni-Cr alloys and confirmed previous experimental results on Fe-Ni alloys in his paper on `A Study on Morphology and Plate Mean Dimensions in Fe-Ni and Fe-Ni-Cr Alloys.' However, there are some serious inconsistencies in the interpretation of the results which warrant a discussion. As an example, thin-plate morphology is known to occur at very low temperatures with a fully-twinned structure and with smooth and straight boundaries, in some cases, exhibiting thermoelastic behavior. Visvesvaran overlooked the drastic change in the kinetic mode on adding Cr to Fe-Ni alloy, and that the isothermal behavior becomes dominant.
