摘要
This article focuses on a storytelling mechanism little studied to date, namely, narrative discontinuity: It analyses various instances of it in ancient and modern authors, concentrating on Meleager's exemplum (Il. 9, 529-605). This contribution also distinguishes narrative discontinuity from other analogous procedures, defining it tentatively as an intertwining of two or more parallel narrative series which, taken together, provide an effect of unity, despite not being connected syntactically.
