Photolysis of atmospheric ozone in the ultraviolet region

摘要
The photodissociation processes in the ultraviolet photolysis of ozone were studied. The formation process of O(1D) atoms from the ozone photolysis was also discussed. The fourier transform spectrometer, spectrophotometer and chemical actinometer were used for the measurement of the absorption spectra and the O(1D) quantum yields in the ozone photolysis. It was observed that the O(1D) formation following ozone photolysis at wavelengths greater than 310 nm was due to absorption by vibrationally excited ozone and photodissociation through the spin-forbidden process.
