Impact of boron addition on the hot deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of S31254

摘要
In this work, the microstructure changing before and after the hot compression test on the B modified as-cast S31254 super austenitic stainless steels was investigated at 950 degrees C and a fixed strain rate of 0.01 s(-1). It was found that the S31254 with B exhibited enhanced thermoplasticity during the hot compression test, while a restrained effect on crack generation and propagation was also detected. The B containing S31254 prevented the precipitation of the a phases and promoted their recrystallization during the hot deformation. The segregation of B atoms at the austenite grain boundary could be attributed to their influence on the microstructural and thermoplasticity properties, while the inhibition function during the nucleation of the a phase is accelerated.
