摘要
Characteristics of stacking faults in layered boron nitride were studied. For this purpose, a low-temperature (turbostratic) form of powder was synthesized. The powder was hot-pressed, and in a series consisting of 75 ceramic specimens, the density, hardness, Young's modulus and graphitization index were measured, Based on results of mathematical analysis of the relationships between the physical parameters, diffraction patterns and microscopic observations, a hypothetical model of turbostratic disorder in layered boron nitride crystals has been proposed regarding tilting between boron nitride layers, which results in sites with enhanced overlapping of electronic orbitals. Both sp(2) and sp(3) with the symmetry of trigonal pyramid are considered to contribute to the state of hybridization of electronic orbitals.
