Synthesis, crystal structure and thermochemical study of [Gd2(Gly)6(H2O)4](ClO4)6(H2O)5

The complex [Gd-2(Gly)(6)(H2O)(4)](ClO4)(6)(H2O)(5) was synthesized by a microwave technology characterized by IR spectra and a TG-DTG technique. The crystal structure of the complex was determined by an X-ray diffraction method. The crystal is a ID chain structure, which belongs to a triclinic system with space group P (1) over bar, and cell parameters: a = 1.1569(17) nm, b = 1.4138(2) nm, c = 1.5642(2) nm, alpha = 96.910(2)degrees, beta = 102.735(2)degrees, gamma = 105.512(2)degrees, V = 2.3606(6) nm(3), Z = 2, and D-c = 2.144 g.cm(-3). By isoperibol solution-reaction calorimetry, the standard molar enthalpy of formation of the complex was determined to be -(7960.73 +/- 3.23)kJ.mol(-1).
