摘要
Disadvantages of TiC-base cermets - in comparison with WC-base ones - are low modulus of elasticity, higher britleness and thermal expansion coefficient, lower thermal conductivity, abrasive and erosive wear resistance. Elaborated low-binder steel-bonded TiC-base cermets have such beneficial characteristics as low friction coefficient and density, high heat resistance, compressive strength, adhesive wear resistance and proof stress. Most of these high characteristics can be attributed to the excellent properties of steel binder with optimal composition and structure. Owning to aforementioned advantages steel-bonded TiC-base cermets are prospective first of all in the working conditions where high adhesive wear resistance, compressive strength, proof stress, toughness and low density are of importance.
