摘要
This study proposes the procedures for investigating the vibration of stay cables according to the criteria for each typical vibration phenomena and design of most appropriate mitigation measures for problematic vibration. Vortex-induced vibration, galloping, rain-wind-induced vibration and deck or tower induced vibration are considered as a possible hazardous vibration of stay cables. Considered measures for mitigating the vibration are increasing damping by the external damper. Proposed procedures enable to investigate the vibration of stay cable systematically and of which vibration mitigation methods are appropriate. The proposed procedures are verified by the application example to real cable-stayed bridge, and the results of decision are rational and coincide well with previous experience.
