摘要
A positive shift in the power transfer capacity (PTC) of a transmission line and a conclusive comparison on PTC advancement accomplished through the introduction of the proposed refined model which signifies the functional resemblance of the conventional Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices is presented. A comprehensive load flow model that allows flexibility on voltage regulation and real power injection is introduced. In this model, the firing angle of Thyristor-Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC), the nodal voltage magnitude, and the corresponding phase angle of the Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) are regarded as the control variables which are compounded with the entire network and a unified iterative solution is realized through a Newton-Raphson method. Also, in this model, the power consumed by STATCOM to compensate for the internal losses is accounted and ambiguity of operation of TCSC near resonant point is surmounted. A corresponding case study has also been implemented on the IEEE 30-bus system.
