摘要
Efficient procedure for the oxidation of benzoins into the corresponding benzils using potassium dichromate in N,N-dimethyl formamide system under homogeneous conditions at 70 degrees C is described. The present oxidations are completed within 5 h with yields between 82 and 92%.
