摘要：
The article makes an attempt to provide the general characteristics of the national innovation system of Kazakhstan. It describes the key tendencies and indicators of innovation development including R&D, financing innovations and state innovation policy. Author considers the competitiveness of Kazakhstan economy within the rating of Global Competitiveness WEE Special attention is paid to the innovation factor which is important for appraising of the developing countries like Kazakhstan. In addition, the author provides SWOT-analysis to determine the strengths and the weaknesses of the innovation system.
