THE DISCIPLINARY SCIENTIFIC DISPUTE OF THE CONCEPT OF LANDSCAPE

In the middle of a strong epistemological confusion, the incorporation of the landscape as an object of scientific research has stripped it of his aesthetic essence. With the purpose of clarifying the situation, we analyzed the literature on the subject considered most important to know its philosophical affiliation and the structure of its theoretical rationality. As a result, it was found that, in most cases, it is simply the substitution of the words territory, geosystem and ecosystem for that of landscape, which reduced the research to the knowledge of the components of the material substrate of the territory established relationships between them, and expel the subject from the object.
