摘要
The matrix systems are more easily obtained and have reduced cost in comparison to others systems of drug-controlled release, consisting as a simple alternative in the development of efficient formulations. Amongst the matrix systems the systems consisting of biodegradable hydrophilic matrix are the most widely used. Diverse hydrophilic polymers are applied to the attainment of bioadhesive pharmaceutical forms, the great majority being mucoadhesives. The interaction between polymer and the mucous membrane is conducted by diverse chemical forces and to explain the principle of the mucoadhesion the study of the adhesion theory is objectified. The aim of this work was to explore the diverse matrix systems of drug controlled release, its more recent applications, technology of attainment, advantages and disadvantages.
