This paper presents a single-stage non-isolated modified multiplier SEPIC based AC-DC converter for power factor correction (PFC). The proposed topology combines merits of both of the modified and multiplier techniques simultaneously in the SEPIC converter to evolve a new converter topology. It provides almost unity power factor, reduces THD, lower input current ripple, reduced voltage across the switch, high voltage gain, simple circuit with single switch, and allows high switching frequency. By adding additional multiplier levels, higher voltage gains can be obtained. Average current mode controller has been implemented to achieve PFC. The paper describes the principle of operation of proposed converter, derivation of its static gain, control method and simulation results for the proposed PFC converter. MATLAB/SIMLINK based simulation studies have been performed to justify the claimed features of the proposed converter
