Enhanced energy storage in Sn-doped sodium bismuth titanate lead-free relaxor ferroelectric ceramics

摘要
SnO2-doped (Bi0.5Na0.5)(0.93)Ba0.07TiO3 (BNT7BT) ceramics were prepared via a conventional solid-state reaction method. Their phase structures, microstructures, and electrical properties were characterized in detail. SnO2 doping increased the lattice parameters and the average grain sizes. A certain amount of SnO2 could improve the dielectric properties, and tune the relaxor behavior of the BNT7BT; in this manner, low energy loss and high energy storage density were achieved. In particular, the BNT7BT sample with 0.2 mol% SnO2 exhibited a high recoverable energy density of 1.27 J cm(-3) and energy efficiency of 79.15%, which was mainly attributed to a large electric-field of 150 kV cm(-1) and a small remnant polarization of 1.15 mu C cm(-2). The results indicate that (Bi0.5Na0.5)(0.93)Ba0.07SnxTi1-xO3 ceramics can be a promising lead-free candidate for energy storage capacitors.
