摘要
The increase of population has led to an increase in the population of health care. X-rays are often used for diagnostic in the medical field. It is often used for a medical check-up in the thoracic area to identify any illnesses, such as calcification or spotting of any other type of illnesses. In this way, thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips were used to measure the radiation exposure to patients in order to identify the amount of radiation released during the examination in a hospital in South Jakarta. These data may be used as a reference to improve the radiation dosage, in order for the radiation dosage to be low as possible while optimizing the image as much as possible. The study was conducted using twelve patients and had a satisfying result with the optimization of the image while conducting with a low dosage of radiation. Therefore, the x-ray used at a hospital has been justified and were compatible with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nukiir (BAPETEN) regulations. The result of the data was also compared with previous studies and came up with a satisfying result.
