A continuum damage mechanics model for high cycle fatigue

摘要
The paper presents a continuum damage mechanics model, which is based on the general thermodynamic framework advocated by Lemaitre and Chaboche, etc.. for high cycle fatigue. It can give a good clarification for some classical fatigue models under the condition of elastic strain dominating. The model in which the effect of mean stress is considered in its damage evolution law is simple with fewer parameters. Good agreement between the theoretical log S-log N curve by using this model and experimental ones is obtained. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
