A study of damping capacities in pure Mg and Mg-Ni alloys

摘要
Excellent damping capacities were observed in pure Mg and hypoeutectic Mg-Ni alloys. Two damping peaks (P-1, P-2) were found at 100 degrees C and 230 degrees C, respectively. P-1 was a newly detected damping peak, which was considered to derive from the movement of dislocations; it has great significance for practical applications. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc.
