Mechanism of Grain-Boundary Diffusion and Grain-Boundary Segregation of 57Co in Polycrystalline Nb

摘要
The Mossbauer emission spectroscopy has been used to study the mechanisms of grain-boundary diffusion and grain-boundary segregation of Co-57 in polycrystalline Nb. It is shown that Co atoms diffuse along the grain boundaries of niobium by the interstitial mechanism. The relative intensity of spectral lines as a function of temperature has been analyzed. The grain-boundary segregation factor of Co in Nb has been calculated. The data received have been compared with the results of previous studies on grain-boundary diffusion and segregation of Sn in Nb.
