Sickle Cell Considerations in Athletes

This article highlights the exertional-sickling collapse syndrome in athletes with sickle cell trait (SCT). It covers all aspects of this syndrome, including pathophysiology, new research on microcirculatory changes, clinical features, differential diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
