摘要
This work proposed here presents a novel approach for selecting the optimised placement of battery to minimize the power losses in a distribution network. A meta-heuristic optimization algorithm known as genetic algorithm is employed to perform the optimization. In the work proposed, a charging/discharging strategy for battery is used to enhance the battery services. This study ensures a continuous power supply to the loads through the system operation constraints. The proposed algorithm is tested on a portion of the IEEE European low voltage (LV) test feeder using MATLAB simulation engine.The simulation results shows that the losses can be significantly reduced after placing the battery at the optimal location.
