摘要
NiTi shape memory alloys (SMA) show material inherent difficulties in machining, e. g. high wear of cutting tools, making near-net-shape manufacturing techniques attractive. Metal Injection Molding (MIM) is a widely used near-net-shape process for metal powders that has been adapted to NiTi SMA. The present investigation was carried out with pre-alloyed NiTi powder. As a test geometry, tubes of about 30 mm length and 2 mm wall thickness as well as tensile test samples were prepared by MIM. After debinding, sintering and heat treatment, chemical analysis of impurities (oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon), phase composition (XRD), and shape memory properties (such as phase transformation temperature and mechanical properties) were determined in dependence of manufacturing conditions.
