摘要：
This paper gives an overwiev on bibliotherapy. Bibliotherapy means the therapeutic use of books and literature with or without additional support by a therapist. The history of bibliotherapy since the 18th century is summarized and different approaches, concepts, theories and characteristics of the therapeutic use of texts are discussed. Strategies of how to use texts in a therapeutic context, possible aims and different kinds of self-help books are presented. Results of empirical studies on bibliotherapy are reported.
