摘要
The developments made in the field of natural photonics are discussed. Interdisciplinary research has brought about dramatic discoveries associated with natural optical systems, and modern optical technologies are deriving inspiration from them. The advances made in biomimetics, including developments in the fields of antireflective materials and anticounterfeiting technologies, are discussed. The way in which an understanding of natural nanostructured systems is driving development towards advanced photonic systems is also described.
