摘要：
An investigation into stator winding failures caused by the voltage surge environment is presented. Measurements of the surge voltage characteristics from a group of eight low-voltage motors driven by inverter-fed drives are discussed. Partial discharge activity in the motors was identified as the root cause of the deterioration and the eventual failure of the stator windings.
