Research on the coordinated development of regional resources, environment and economy in western China based on DEA model

In this paper, date envelopment analysis (DEA) model is introduced and applied to evaluate the coordinated development of regional resources, environment and economy in western China, then setting up an index system and collecting data from statistical bulletin in 2005. The overall efficiencies of inputs and outputs of 11 provinces, cities or municipalities in western China except Tibet are calculated and analyzed in details. Research has shown that regional resources, environment and economy in western China have the different extent of coordinated development, but we need to improve the utilization percent of resources, furthermore, we must pay attention to both technical and scale efficiencies, as well as the environmental protection, and thus it is necessary to develop circular economy for the coordinated development in western China.
