摘要:
The ion charge state distribution of vacuum are plasma depends on its are operating ("burning") voltage. Increase of the are operating voltage leads to dissipation of more energy in the collisional cathode-spot plasma and as a result the average ion charge state increases. One way of increasing the are voltage is to superimpose current spikes on the are current. The influence of single, double, and multiple current spikes on the charge state distribution has been investigated for various cathode materials.
