摘要
This paper provides an introduction to basic aspects of Open Science. First, it addresses the replication crisis in investigation and examples of questionable research practices that undermine science. Next, it describes examples of Open Science initiatives that aim to improve the reproducibility and reliability of scientific knowledge. Finally, it discusses the impact of adopting Open Science principles in elevating publication standards as well as challenges in transforming the system in which research is carried out. Overall, this work shares notions and resources that help involve academics from Latin America in the Open Science movement.
