摘要
Solid particles are the elements who originate the erosion of system component. These are either introduced during the process, for example in oil industries as sand particles or introduced by intention, example nanomaterial for heat transfer enhancement. The eroded components may result in the failure and further system failure. Therefore, it is important to know the erosion phenomena and factors responsible for it. This work discusses these key factors and their level of influence on the erosion. From this study it can be seen that the erosion is the complex phenomena and need to focus on especially for nanoparticles that are added as fluid performance enhancement element. Finally, possible limitations and gaps regarding erosion phenomena w.r.t. influencing factors are discussed. The present work can be used by oil, heat transfer equipment manufacturer companies as a review for understanding the erosion challenges and numerous factors impact on the erosion.
