Microstructures and Properties of the Cold-Sprayed Cu Coating on Brass Substrate

摘要
A cold spraying technique and pure Cu powders were used to fabricate a copper coating on H80 brass matrix. Microstructure analysis and mechanical property testing show the coating mainly consists of monoatomic copper and a quantity of Cu(2)O phase. With a characteristic of laminar structure, the coating exhibits good compactness and high bonding strength to matrix. In addition, the cold spraying process caused microstructure distortion in surface of the matrix, and dislocation sliding bands and hardening effect are thus observed in these regions. Annealing treatment of 200 degrees C, 4 h may bring element dispersion across the coating/matrix interface, therefore improving interface bonding strength.
