摘要
Alkyl and aryl sulfides were oxidized to the corresponding sulfoxides with urea-hydrogen peroxide (UHP) in the presence of FeCl3 as a Lewis acid catalyst under simple and mild reaction conditions. The protocol is efficient and highly selective and sulfoxides were obtained as the sole oxidation products in high yields at room temperature. [GRAPHICS] .
