摘要
The alloying effect of Zr on beta-phase stability was investigated in beta (body-centered cubic)-type Ti-Zr-Nb alloys. According to both calculations and experiments, the addition of Zr was found to greatly modify the beta-phase stability, because Zr worked as a beta-stabilizing element in these beta-type alloys. The (beta/(beta omega)(+alpha") phase-boundary was determined experimentally in the alloys at several Zr content levels. It was shown that the beta stabilizing effect of Zr increased with increasing content of the other beta-stabilizer element (i.e. Nb) in the alloy. (c) 2007 Acta Materialia Inc.
