摘要
This paper presents a new method to design a phase shifted multi pulse ac-dc power converter. It is very well known that during power conversion from ac to dc some harmonic is generated that is harmful for electrical equipments. in this work, multi-pulse converter & phase shifting transformer has been analyzed, and a phase shifted multi-pulse ac-dc power converter has been proposed and its performances have been compared with some conventional converters. Main target of this work is to reduce the cost of power converter with minimum total harmonic distortion (THD). The proposed phase shifted multi-pulse converter has been simulated in 132 kV source. Simulation work has been done with the help of MATLAB/Simulink package. It is found that its performance is better than existing converters. Thus it reduces costs, complexity, output current ripple, and THD. Therefore, the proposed converter can be the better choice for medium voltage power conversion.
