摘要
The purpose of this work is to study the compressive behavior of Tamarind Pod Shell (TPS) reinforced epoxy composite using an experimental and finite element (FE) modeling approach. The compressive behavior of the composites was investigated based on the different particle sizes (75, 105, 150, and 250 mu m) and NaOH treatment (5 wt%). The developed FE model validated the compressive strength using the representative volume element (RVE). The surface treatment was implemented in the FE model to compare with experimentally NaOH-treated TPS composites. The results revealed that good agreement between the FE and experimental results. This shows the accuracy and adaptability of the TPS filler reinforced composite model.
