Dry-matter production and nutrient uptake in Frenchbean (Phaseolus vulgaris) as affected by nitrogen and phosphorus application

摘要
A 2-year field experiment was conducted during winter of 1991-92 and 1992-93 to study the effect of N (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg N/ha) and P (0, 50 and 100 kg P2O5/ha) on dry-matter production and uptake of N and P in 'PDR 14' Frenchbean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) on sandy-loam soil. Dry-matter production (seed and straw) increased significantly up to 120 kg N/ha. N content and uptake of N and P also exhibited the similar trend. Increase in seed dry matter, P content and uptake of N and P was significant up to 100 kg P2O5/ha. Straw dry matter increased significantly up to 50 kg P2O5/ha.
