摘要
Author describes the process of an adaptation of the Slovak version of the Snyder's Hope Scale. At the beginning, the three types of psychological concepts of hope are presented: the emotional, the existential and the cognitive ones. The Snyder's understanding of hope represents the cognitive concepts. Snyder considers hope as a cognitive set containing two elements: agency ability and will to pursue the way towards a goal, and pathway - ability to generate working routes to goals. The Slovak version of the Hope Scale was firstly administered to the sample of 206 respondents. The scale was then corrected according to the preliminary statistical results and administered to another 334 respondents. The actual version of scale shows satisfactory internal consistency its factor structure is congruent with the two scale dimensions, and correlations with selected criteria suggest adequate validity.
