摘要
Electrochemical reduction of cobalt(II) complexes containing pi-acceptor ligands (L = bpy, Ph(2)Ppy) proceeds through three consecutive reversible steps: one-electron transfer to form a more stable (CoL)-L-1 complex, transfer of two electrons at more negative potentials to form an anionic [CoL](-) complex, and reduction of the liggand to the radical anion. The stability of the cobalt complexes with different ligands decreases in the series Ph(2)Ppy > Ph3P > bpy.
