A new triggering method for oscilloscope based on associative memory technique

摘要
In this paper we present a new triggering scheme for oscilloscopes. Based on the Associative memory technique, and utilizing a new weighted Hamming distance parameter, this technique is capable of providing stable oscilloscope triggering even in those cases of complex waveforms, wherein the commonly used voltage level triggering method fails to provide stable triggering. The proposed technique has been simulated on afield programmable gate array (FPGA) design tool and has given successful initial results using several different kinds of test waveforms.
