Characteristics of growth of large barium metaborate single crystals from flux by the Czochralski technique

摘要：
The effects hindering reproducible growth of large barium metaborate (BMB) single crystals are studied. It is found that BMB crystals can be successfully grown under the conditions of separation of components of berate-containing melts by selecting the appropriate temperature, rotation and pulling rates, and relations between the characteristic dimensions of the growth system. Care should also be taken to slow down or minimize the effect of the formation of differently supersaturated zones in the solution.
