摘要
In this paper, an improved squeezed photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is proposed and a triangular lattice is used to set up the air holes. A mode solver software using finite element method (FEM) with perfectly matched layer (PML) boundary condition is used to investigate the performance of the proposed PCF. The simulation result confirms that at the excitation wavelength of 1550 nm, the value of birefringence of the proposed design is 4.986x10(-2) with a very low confinement loss (<= 10(-1) dB/Km). The proposed PCF also confirms that it is possible to obtain low effective area of about 2.17 mu m(2) and high non-linear co-efficient of about 42.89 W-1 Km(-1). Therefore, having appealing features, this PCF have sufficient potentiality for sensing applications.
