Sound radiation by a finite grating consisting of open rigid cylindrical shells

A rigorous solution of the problem of sound radiation by a finite grating consisting of open rigid cylindrical shells is presented. By using a priori data on the field behavior in the vicinity of the shell ends, an efficient numerical algorithm for estimating the near and far fields generated by the grating is developed. A quantitative analysis is carried out, on the basis of which a number of specific features of the fields generated by the gratings consisting of fluctuating or oscillating shells is revealed.
