摘要
Ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication is a promising technique for conveying high rate data over short length wireless links. But it requires extremely high sampling rate analog to digital conversion (ADC). State-of-the-art Nyquist ADCs can achieve a sampling rate of 550 MHz at 12 bits resolution, or 3 GHz with 8 bits resolution. Therefore, the ADC sampling rate and resolution become of utmost importance for UWB system applications. In this paper, recent advances in theory and techniques for low-rate sampling in UWB systems are reviewed. From canonical parallel approaches to recently developed compressed sensing (CS) based approaches are systematically discussed. Finally, tentative future research directions are given.
