摘要
It has long been believed that the fatty acid hydroxylase wild-type P450BM3 is unable to oxidize gaseous alkanes. However, the simple addition of a perfluorocarboxylic acid as a dummy substrate to initiate the P450BM3 catalytic cycle enabled the efficient hydroxylation of butane and propane (see picture). © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
