Two new lanthanide coordination polymers, [Ln(2)(APA)(2)(HAPA)(2)(phen)(2)](n) [Ln = Pr (1), Eu (2); H(2)APA = 5-aminoisophthalic acid, phen = 1,10-Phenanthroline] have been synthesized by hydrothermal method, and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and IR spectra. Crystallographic data show that complexes 1 and 2 both crystallize in a triclinic system, space group P (1) over bar. The titled compounds own 2-D herringbone structures which are further constructed to form 3-D supramolecular structures by N-H center dot center dot center dot O and O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bondings. The thermogravimetric analyses were carried out to examine the thermal stability of the title complexes. And the photoluminescence property of 2 was investigated.
