Imaging plays an important role in the initial assessment and follow-up of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This article summarizes the radiologic features of emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and respiratory bronchitis and discusses the role of chest radiology and high-resolution CT in the assessment of patients.
