Interactive total knee replacement

We have developed an interactive tutorial for teaching techniques and concepts of modern total knee replacement. Total knee replacement is an equipment intensive procedure that requires a close familiarity with the instrumentation for an efficiently and properly performed operation. This tutorial utilizes three-dimensional modeling in an interactive environment to simulate total knee replacement on the computer. After successful completion of the tutorial the user should be more familiar with the equipment and relevant technical issues necessary for a successful outcome. Tutorials such as this can be designed to teach other instrument systems and would benefit not only residents and fellows in training but also practitioners who want to learn a new instrument system or review current concepts in joint replacement.
