摘要
The evolution of information and communications technology (ICT) has impacted various sectors, including the educational sector. Accordingly, several methods have emerged, such as electronic learning (e-learning), to support the education process. Learning management systems (LMSs) include various features that could be used by higher education institutions to support e-learning activities. However, the implementation of LMSs in non-scientific colleges is not as simple as it is for scientific colleges, such as computer and information sciences colleges, because of the information technology (IT) background differences between the system's stakeholders (students and academic staff). Thus, the improper implementation of LMSs in non-scientific colleges may play a major role in not realizing the expected benefits from such initiatives. Consequently, the objective of this paper is to develop a conceptual model for non-scientific colleges to successfully implement LMSs. This model gives a look at the critical success factors (CSFs) for LMS implementation. The CSFs are related to the student, instructor, system, university support, and change management.
