Over the period of time, mechanical properties of natural as well as synthetic fiber have been used to reinforce concrete albeit extensively, to enhance the mechanical properties of concrete. Many investigations were carried out to evaluate the engineering characteristics and explore the applications of a variety fibers leaving a few. The present study thus involves the determination of optimum% of glass fiber reinforcement (wt./wt. ratio) with the best compressive strength, split tensile strength, impact strength. With the addition of glass fiber, (1) compressive strength was found to increase by 14% for 0.8% glass fiber, (2) flexural strength was found to increase by 7.84% for 0.8% glass fiber and (3) Schmidt rebound hammer number was found to increase by 14% for 0.8% glass fiber (4), split tensile strength value is found to increase by 37% for 0.8% glass fiber, (5) ultra sonic pulse velocity was found to increase by 24% for 0.8% glass fiber. Glass fiber in the concrete medium thus enhanced the properties of concrete in general but split tensile strength in particular.
