Climatic and related scenarios for impact assessment: towards the IPCC Third Assessment Report

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has formed a Task Group on Scenarios for Climate Impact Assessment (TGCIA) to consider the strategy for the provision of regional climate change and related projections for use in climate change impact and adaptation assessment, with particular focus on the IPCC Third Assessment Report. To this end, the Task Group has compiled inventories of climate models and of climate impact and adaptation, studies and has established a Data Distribution Centre (DDC) to provide baseline and projected information on climatic and related social, economic and environmental factors, along with guidance material on the selection and application of scenarios.
